Reporting, analysis and commentary
No Hype Needed distinguishes factual reporting from analysis and commentary. Opinion does not become fact because it is strongly held, and a source's allegation does not become NHN's conclusion because it is newsworthy.
Primary sources first
Rules, eligibility requirements, legislation, policies and official decisions should be checked against the responsible governing body or original record whenever reasonably available. Secondary reporting can add context; it should not silently replace the source that controls the rule.
Information expires
Living intelligence records display verification information because rules change. Readers should use the current governing source for decisions involving eligibility, money, legal rights, school enrollment or other consequential matters.
Corrections
Material factual errors should be corrected rather than quietly defended. When a published record materially changes, NHN's goal is to make the update visible enough that a reasonable reader can understand what changed.
Students and minors
A student is not engagement bait. Privacy, safety and proportionality come before a post. NHN does not need a minor's private medical, academic or disciplinary details to manufacture a stronger story.
Conflicts and commercial relationships
No Hype Needed is part of Knox•Moor but operates as its media and intelligence arm. Relevant Knox•Moor financial, client or organizational relationships should be disclosed when they materially intersect with coverage. Sponsors and commercial partners do not receive editorial approval over independent coverage.
Outside contributors
Future guest and contributor work will be reviewed before publication. Publication on NHN will not mean every viewpoint is adopted by Knox•Moor; factual claims remain subject to sourcing and editorial review.
The standard applies upward
Parents, coaches, schools, governing bodies, businesses and Knox•Moor itself are not exempt from scrutiny. The point is not to pick a side. The point is to make the record more useful.
